Your Medicaid & CHIP Dental Insurance

Medicaid and CHIP dental insurance programs in the state of Texas provide benefits to cover all or part of the cost of preventive and restorative dentistry services for children, seniors, and qualifying adults as well as emergency coverage for patients of all ages. Some Medicaid and CHIP plans will also cover orthodontics (braces). We are happy to process Medicaid and CHIP benefits for kids and seniors who visit our Dallas dentist and team, and whenever possible, we will provide emergency dental care for non-senior adults. In order to ensure your dental insurance benefits are available, we carefully review your Medicaid or CHIP plan documents and apply for preapproval as necessary to make sure your out of pocket treatment costs are kept to a minimum.

How to Schedule a Medicaid Dental Appointment

Most dental insurance plans allow patients the flexibility to visit the dentist of their choice and still receive coverage. Medicaid and CHIP policies have stringent limitations on which dentists patients can visit and what treatments they can receive. In order to ensure your benefits are available, you should call our dental office prior to your first appointment and let a dental team member know that your family is covered by Medicaid or CHIP. The dental office team member you talk to will ask you a number of questions in order to ensure your treatment is approved, so you receive coverage for all the services you receive in our office. If you’re not a regular patient with our dental office and you’re experiencing a dental emergency, call us right away. Even without coverage preapproval with Medicaid, emergency treatments are usually covered for any patient at any age.
